We help in-house marketers and leadership teams in growing businesses make clearer marketing decisions, strengthen their brands, improve their websites and deliver focused digital marketing.
Our role is not to add more activity for the sake of it.
We help you work out what matters, build a clear case for it and turn the agreed direction into practical work that supports the wider business.
Need a clearer direction for your marketing?
Talk to Big Bear.
Marketing can become difficult when there are too many priorities, competing opinions and limited time to step back.
You may already have plenty of activity in place, but still feel unsure about what is working, where to invest or what should happen next. Even when the right direction seems clear, getting agreement from directors, the board or the wider team can slow everything down.
Big Bear helps you make sense of the options.
We ask the questions that get to the real issue, challenge work that is no longer useful and help you focus on the decisions most likely to support your commercial goals.
Once the direction is clear, we help you deliver it properly.

Big Bear Creative was founded by Dave and Emma Sheppard in 2016.
We started the business with a simple belief: marketing should feel useful.
It should help businesses make progress, not create more confusion. It should be based on clear thinking, honest advice and a practical understanding of what can realistically be delivered.
Between us, we bring together strategic marketing, creative direction, brand development, website planning and digital delivery.
As a family-run agency, we stay close to the work and the people involved. Clients work directly with experienced decision-makers who understand the project, challenge assumptions when needed and remain accountable for the outcome.

Emma is Big Bear Creative’s co-founder and Brand Director.
She has extensive experience in brand strategy, visual identity and creative design, including work connected with brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Co-op.
Since founding Big Bear in 2016, Emma has helped businesses develop clearer positioning and distinctive visual identities that support their wider commercial goals.
She has also completed Mark Ritson’s Mini MBA in Marketing.

Dave is Big Bear Creative’s co-founder and Digital Marketing Director.
He has worked both agency-side and in-house, with experience involving businesses including BGL Group, BoilerJuice, Beagle Street and Compare the Market.
He specialises in digital marketing strategy, SEO, websites and paid media.
Dave is the author of SEO Freedom, a speaker at marketing and SEO events, and a recipient of four SAM Business awards.

Izabela "Izzy" is a Digital Marketing Strategist at Big Bear Creative, specialising in hospitality marketing, paid advertising, content and campaign strategy.
She helps clients turn marketing data into clear, practical decisions, with a strong focus on commercial performance rather than surface-level metrics. Her work includes Google Ads, content planning, conversion improvement and strategies that help hotels generate more profitable direct bookings.
Izzy also creates and shares practical insights on hospitality marketing, covering subjects such as booking journeys, customer behaviour, campaign profitability and the changing role of search and AI.
Her thoughtful, evidence-led approach helps clients understand what is working, where opportunities are being missed and what should happen next.

We do not begin by prescribing a campaign, website or rebrand. We first look at what the business is trying to achieve, what is getting in the way and what role marketing should play.
We will tell you what we believe is worth doing, what can wait and what is unlikely to deliver enough value.
When a decision needs approval, we help you explain the reasoning clearly. That may mean preparing a recommendation, presenting the commercial case or helping different stakeholders reach agreement.
Once the direction is agreed, we can help deliver the strategy, brand, website or digital marketing activity required to move it forward.
Clients usually come to us when:
We can work alongside an existing marketing team, provide senior strategic support or take responsibility for agreed areas of delivery.
We are based in Cambridge and work with businesses across Cambridgeshire and the wider UK.

Clients choose Big Bear because they need more than a supplier.
They value:

Working with us should feel clear and straightforward.
You understand what is being recommended and why. You have someone experienced to test ideas with, challenge assumptions and turn decisions into finished work.
Most importantly, you are not spending time and budget on activity that does not support the outcome you are trying to achieve.

Big Bear Creative is a Cambridge marketing agency providing marketing strategy, branding, Webflow website design, SEO, PPC and digital marketing support. We help growing businesses make clearer decisions and turn those decisions into practical work.
We mainly work with in-house marketers, business owners and leadership teams in growing SMEs. We are particularly useful when a business already has marketing activity in place but needs clearer priorities, stronger alignment or additional expertise.
Big Bear Creative is based in Cambridge and works with clients across the UK. Projects can be delivered through a combination of in-person meetings and remote collaboration. We are based at the Alia Buinsess Centre on Kings Hedges Road in Cambridge and also we work remotely.
No. We combine strategy with delivery. Depending on what the business needs, we can support branding, website design and development, SEO, PPC and wider digital marketing activity.
Clients work directly with the experienced people leading the agency. We provide honest advice, stay close to the work and combine strategic thinking with practical delivery.
Most projects begin with a conversation about the business, its current marketing activity and the outcome it needs to achieve. We then recommend the most useful next step rather than pushing a predetermined package.
